The exhibition consists of four diary entries dating from August 2000, which are written on the walls of the gallery using UV color, so they become visible only during the night, when the UV lighting is turned on in the gallery space. There are also four buddha machine loopers positioned on the walls as well, next to the texts and one audio player placed on a pedestal in the middle of the gallery.
Project is based on a personal micro-exploration that happened 10 years prior to the exhibition, when I tried to make a short, abstract sound diary at the end of each day, during a period of one month, which captured the basic emotion and/or changes of the dominant emotional states and contents of the day.
Recently, going through and sorting my possessions, I stumbled upon these audio recordings, some of them accompanied by short notes. Through the comparison of the relations between text and sound, as well as the dynamics of the recorded time in the audio recordings, a sublimation of the basic emotion arose – Grundstimmung.
