Dolphins, Birds, Sun.


P  R  E  F  A  C  E:    B O J A N   G A G I Ć

A square in Osor, spring. Green scenery, stone and swallows. A well, church, cafe, fragrances from the gardens. A walk. A little further – the sea, flowers and goats. People rarely found anywhere. Doors and shutters mostly closed. Time after lunch, siesta. Trails ending in the fields or at the coast. Wind carrying the sound, the open sea seas disappear behind the first houses. Dry stone wall, a field behind which there is always something. The sun at half its strength.

This sound installation is a space where the sounds of the sea and the sky meet. In the well itself, there are speakers playing the original recording, as well as the granularly processed recording of the dolphins from the Lošinj aquatorium. Being near the well, a visitor of the installation at the same time hears the swallows which inhabit the square. The pre-recorded sounds of the dolphins together with the site-specific sounds of the location form a new imaginary space, and thus the installation itself becomes an abstract picture book of oscillations and vibrations.
